Most modern Estonian shale oil plant is ready

The most modern Estonian shale oil plant has been opened today in Kohtla- Järve. It will be producing shale oil otherwise than all fabrics already available in Kohtla-Järve.

This new plant can use fine oil shale, and oil fraction is quite high. The new VKG oil plant cost amounted to appr. one billion kroons.

The President Toomas Hendrik Ilves said after he had snipped a red ribbon that the opening of a new plant is especially important at this time of economic slowdown.

The director of VKG Oil Nikolai Petrovich said that companies from many countries took part in designing and supplying, but over 80 % of equipment had been fabricated in Estonia.
