G4-EC2 Financial implications and other risks and opportunities for the organization’s activities due to climate change

G4-EC3 Coverage of the organization’s defined benefit plan obligations - Pension benefits for the employees of the Group are provided within the frames of the national mandatory pension insurance system.

G4-EC4 Financial assistance received from government - Within the reporting period, the Group received a one-time subsidy via the Archimedes Structural Support Agency. The project of VKG Energia OÜ projekt 'The Development and Implementation of the Methods of Enhancing Complex Optimization of the Functioning of the Thermal Power Plant and the Electrical System, and Security of Supply'.

G4-EC5 Ratios of standard entry level wage by gender compared to local minimum wage at significant locations of operation - the area of operation of Viru Keemia Grupp is Ida-Virumaa. The minimum gross salary rate established by law was 500 EUR per month.

G4-EN13 Habitats protected or restored – The research and monitoring of the area of Ojamaa mine had started even before the mine was opened. Since 2004, the monitoring of surface water has been carried out, while the monitoring of ground water has been going on since 2005. In addition to that, since 2007, the population of wood grouse on the territory adjacent to the mine has been monitored, and since 2015, the condition of Muraka bog has also been observed.

  • Animal species of the I category of protection: Flying squirrel Pteromys volans, Sonda extraction field (at present, the company is not operating in this area, i.e. there is no impact)
  • Vertebrate animals of the II category of protection: Wood grouse Tetrao urogallus, Ojamaa extraction field (protection zone has been established in its habitat, numeration monitoring has been held)
