Labour safety

VKG for the good of its employees

Workers at industrial enterprises are always subject to more health risks than office employees.

In developed countries, the safety of employees and workers is mainly undertaken by the employers themselves. In 1996, they started developing a special management system to help minimise the amount of accidents in the workplace. As a result, a system has been developed called OHSAS (Occupational Health & Safety, English). Viru Keemia Grupp AS sets its sights on the creation of labour conditions in which employees can enjoy working and advancing themselves. We wish for our working environment to be safe and our people healthy.

The system developed allows enterprises to remedy, eliminate and minimise production risks, and it also helps them to implement the best production practices possible, based on safety in the workplace. The main advantage of the system is that it allows a company to clearly determine responsibility for any operational procedure, making it impossible for any irresponsibility or impunity to occur in the workplace.

At VKG, the OHSAS system was first applied at the VKG Oil subsidiary in 2006, and it was then adopted by other subsidiaries. At present, the occupational safety management systems have become an integral part of our production and its processes.
