Kaljo Kiisk grant

The cinema Amadeus of Jõhvi Concert Hall, AS Viru Keemia Grupp, Jõhvi District Administration and film production house Tallinnfilm invited applications on October 8, 2010, to participate in the contest of Young Filmmakers Grant in rememberance of KALJO KIISK.

Grant founders desire keeping the memory of Kaljo Kiisk (hails from Ida-Virumaa, December 3,1925, Voka district, Vaivina village – September 20, 2007, Tallinn), film producer and actor, and godfather of the cinema Amadeus, that is why the ceremony of handing over of the first grant will be held on December 2010 in commemorance of his 85th birthday. The grantˇs objectives are support of young filmmakers using Ida-Virumaa in their creative work. Herewith we would like to motivate young filmmakers discovering the diversity of Ida-Virumaa welth and capturing it on the film footage.

The grant amounts to 40 000 kroons and 40 hours of going to the movies in Amadeus cinema at an opportune time, as well as a review of creation of Estonian film production house (Tallinnfilm).

The grant is awarded once a year. The winner is chosen by a hanging committee where representatives of grant founders belong.
